Stop Secret: Loretta - Grand Final, out now.

Loretta Grand Final Front

Weil es eben nichts vom aktuellen Loretta Album digital gibt, hier The Auteurs - Showgirl. Wer das mag, und zudem noch ein paar Folk- u. Country-Referenzen verträgt, der mag auch Loretta - Grand Final.

Teh Silk Flowers Debut And Video Out NOW

After putting out two singles with excitingly melodic, globbery, lo-fi darkwave tunes, the silk flowers have now released their first full ten track album on vinyl, cd and mp3. SILK FLOWERS DEBUT

The group is well embedded in the NYC music and arts scene. It was Gang Gang Dance's Brian Degraw who produced the new Silk Flowers Video. Before forming Silk Flowers, Aviram Cohen and Ethan Swan performed as Soiled Mattress and the Springs, playing weird Jazz Punk together with the well known king of weird comic America, Mr. Matthew Thurber. Plus SF releases on post present medium (PPM). Which brought the likes of Gun Outfit, Wavves and High Places.

SILK FLOWERS "shadows in daylight" from brian degraw on Vimeo.

I got my first SF single recommended by friendly Scott (the not-Doug for those who know, lol) from Other Music NYC, one of the world's meccas for indie music, and ever since I have ordered Silk Flowers releases. So when on July 21st the longplayer arrived in my temporary home in Stuttgart, I surely was among the first to listen to it in Europe. And I can tell: If there is a thunderstorm coming - put on Silk Flowers new self-titled EP and feel what happens.

HUNCH (Berlin)

for the first time in the universe: this is HUNCH from Berlin

http://www.myspace.com/hunchisafeeling

who has been djing for a loooooooong while as DJ KEM FUEGO, HUNEETO, HUNEEand so on.

( see here e.g. http://www.myspace.com/huneeswings )

I honesstllyy do not know all of his artist names. But still: he is one machine of a record collector, having worked at SOULTRADE, one of Berlins best record stores, he finally knocked me out. He's even got this one famous rare AUDIKA release from ARTHUR RUSSELL that I missed out those days. This is why I am sad. So here is his (I think) very first release on john daly's label feel music:

there was something going on with hunch and prins t. and also with will the speculator from nyc. just wait a little while...

MUSIC: MRZ (Zürich)

beautifully clean, minimal electronic hiphop instrumentals from a brrrrrooklyn brrrrick loft studio by swiss artist MRZ. Soft spoken guy as long as it doesn't get to MYRTLE AVENUE. His actual residence.

honestly: this is okay music. CRYSTAL CLEAR. If you have a sub woofer please check the bassline of I CANNOT CONTROL.

Kinda reminds me of DABRYE, but on ice. MRZ comes from an experimental background, building machines for video-acoustic performances. That guy has studied. OH NO!!!!

GGGreat news:
THREE TRAPPED TIGERS

The Future is Prog. By definition.

just imagine some kind of sloppy HENDRIX with a PAUL GILBERT affinity would meet a melancholic late SQUAREPUSHER. The concert at HOXTON SQUARE BAR saved my day. It made me think those guys go further than Squarepusher had done on his last two records. Plus FUCK BUTTONS (I love their music) are just boring compared to THREE TRAPPED TIGERS when they drone around a little.

Concert: Headliner CRYSTAL ANTLERS. But befora that: Three gentle student look alikes. Tiger not expected. Then: One crazy blonde early thirties drummer named ADAM BETTS (who told me he just came home from doing the tour drummer thing with the infamous JAMES TAYLOR) does crazy polyrhythmic things and uses some weird hidden machinery whilst getting so excited by his own playing that his sticks start splattering and he looses his students-glasses. Just in time with excitingly calm guitar god MATT CALVERT who sometimes plays the e-piano and sings a little tune alongside keyboard only player Mr. big eye TOM ROGERSON who looks like pretending being a cool russian exchange piano genius.

once again: this is great news: THREE TRAPPED TIGERS is here: http://www.myspace.com/threetrappedtigers
